Music Marketing

  Marketing Introduction
Marketing your music, label and brand are key to your success.  This section introduces record label marketing & music promotion concepts and introduces you to the various tools contained in the folder.
  Creating Your Marketing Budget
Developing realistic budgets for each project is necessary for all labels.  This document describes how to effectively develop realistic marketing budgets for your releases accounting for all of the variables.
  Marketing Budget Template
This spreadsheet allows you to create a detailed and comprehensive budget for your projects.  Each marketing category is outlined with extensive lists of expenditures. It calculates category totals as well as your overall budget.
  Marketing Plan Template
This customizable template is designed specifically for you to create a comprehensive marketing plan for your album releases.  It includes all of the topics you would expect in a standard marketing plan, but goes beyond that of a standard plan to address music specific issues.
  Testing
For each release, implementing testing strategies should be a part of your plan.  Here we discuss ideas and proven methods for testing your music prior to release.
  Publicity Status Report
Maintain accountability of the people (internal or consultants) you hire to do publicity for you by using this sheet.  Have your publicist complete and submit on a weekly or bi-weekly basis this report to you detailing their progress on each project.
  Street Team Status Report
Maintain accountability of the people (internal or consultants) you hire to do street/lifestyle promotions for you by using this sheet.  Have your reps complete and submit on a weekly or bi-weekly basis this report to you detailing their progress on each project.
  Marketing Item Tracking Sheet
This tool is a spread sheet used to track the creation and allocation of marketing items within the company.  Keep track of how many t-shirts you sent to sales reps, how many posters you sent to street reps and what the costs of everything are.
